Across the 2025 season, we will be ranking the drivers after every weekend and averaging out their scores to see who has been the best driver of the season.
So let's see who ranked highly after a chaotic round one in Australia.

Lando Norris
A pretty much perfect weekend for Lando. Pole position and a comfortable victory. People will point to his one off when the rain came, but either way he managed to deal with it, and almost every driver had a moment at one point.
Season Position - 1st 20 pts

Max Verstappen
Max definitely maximised the potential of the Red Bull this weekend, and to be even in contention for victory shows his class.
Season Position - 2nd 19 pts

Alex Albon
An unbelievable result for Albon and Williams. Brilliant in qualifying and opportunistic in the race. A lot of people doubted whether Alex would be up for the challenge of Sainz this year, and if this weekend is anything to go by, he is more than up for it!
Season Position - 3rd 18 pts

George Russell
Consistency across the weekend from George delivered him a well deserved podium. It's definitely going to be interesting to see the difference in race pace between him and Kimi when they're fighting for similar positions.
Season Position - 4th 17pts

Yuki Tsunoda
An incredible qualifying and brilliant race completely undermined by a strategic blunder by RB as they stayed out at the wrong time. Should have and could have been so much more.
Season Position - 5th 16 pts

Kimi Anontelli
Kimi came back from a disappointing P16 in qualifying to finish P4. It was perhaps a little lucky with the conditions and safety cars, but he made the luck by being in the right place at the right time. Brilliant move on Albon to steal P4.
Season Position - 6th 15 pts

Oscar Piastri
A desperately unlucky result for arguably the quickest driver across the race. One mistake was all it took to put Oscar out of contention, however the rest of the weekend was really strong. There were some good moves at the end to recover a P9 finish.
Season Position: 7th 14 pts

Nico Hulkenberg
A great drive which went under the radar until the conditions changed. Just like others, Nico capitalised on others gambles to come home P8. Maybe some worries about him getting out-qualified by Gabriel, but he proved his quality on Sunday.
Season Position - 8th 13 pts

Lance Stroll
A very similar drive to Nico, Lance picked up some crucial points for his side with a P6 finish. He might have once again looked the slower driver of the Aston Martin pair, however he kept his car out of the wall and delivered the points.
Season Position - 9th 12 pts

Charles Leclerc
It doesn't feel like Charles could have done much more this weekend but Ferrari's pace and strategic blunder cost him from any decent points. The Monegasque made a couple of mistakes in the wet, but was consistently quicker than his 7-time world champion teammate across the weekend.
Season Position - 10th 11 Pts

Pierre Gasly
A disappointing end to a solid weekend, cost Pierre from kicking off his campaign with some good points. Pierre was up in P3 at one point due to his gamble in the wet however it didn't pay off like Brazil last year. He then made a mistake which cost him P8 and eventually fell out of the points. Could have been more, but promising pace.
Season Position - 11th 10 pts

Gabriel Bortoleto
An impressive debut for a so called "B tier rookie". Out-qualifying Nico on debut was the highlight however the race was still some-what impressive. As the rain fell he struggled and put it in the wall but there are still plenty of positives.
Season Position - 12th 9 pts

Lewis Hamilton
It was by no means a bad debut in red for Lewis, who was pretty close to Charles in pace, however didn't set the world alight. Qualifying was okay but in the race he wasn't able to get past Alex Albon in the Williams and then was on the receiving end of some odd Ferrari strategy.
Season Position - 13th 8 pts

Esteban Ocon
A very quiet debut at Haas for Esteban, who were clearly the slowest team. He beat his teammate and kept it out the wall. Not much more can be said.
Season Position - 14 7 pts

Jack Doohan
An impressive debut for Jack, even with the crash on Lap 1. He was quick across the entire weekend, often going quicker than Pierre in the practise sessions. In Q1 he was once again quicker than Pierre, and was unable to show his full potential in Q2 due to being put on used tyres for his first lap and then running into yellow flags on his second.
Season Position - 15th 6pts

Carlos Sainz
A disappointing first weekend in Williams colours for Carlos. A little off Alex's pace in qualifying but still made Q3, and then crashed on Lap 2. With the potential of the Williams car shown by Alex, he could have come home with some good points.
Season Position - 16th 5pts

Fernando Alonso
Another driver who missed out on good points due to his own mistake. It was uncharacteristic from Fernando as he went into the wall although he was just behind Pierre who had threw up a little bit of gravel moments earlier. Either way he should have done better.
Season Position - 17th 4pts

Isack Hadjar
It feels a bit harsh to rank Isack so low after a decent qualifying performance, however crashing out before the race begins is pretty unforgivable.
Season Position - 18th 3pts

Liam Lawson
A weekend to forget. Pretty much terrible from start to finish. No pace in practise, out in Q1, and put it in the wall in the race. Sergio that you?
Season Position - 19th 2 pts

Olliver Bearman
This might feel harsh considering 6 drivers retired, so at least Ollie was classified, right? However Ollie crashed twice in the practise sessions and was unable to take part in qualifying. And then in the race he did okay to stay out of the barriers however couldn't make any inroads or challenge Ocon, and still made some mistakes.
Season Position - 20th 1 pt
Be sure to check back after every race weekend to see which driver comes out on top!
