F1 Championship leader Oscar Piastri confirmed on Media Day for the Mexico GP that his McLaren teammate Lando Norris has had his much talked about 'repercussions' removed.

After Lando made contact with Oscar on the first lap at Marina Bay, McLaren confirmed they would place 'repercussions' on the British driver, deeming the incident his fault.

While the team never revealed what these were, it was said they weren't major and had been speculated to be Oscar getting priority in qualifying runs.

However, for the second race weekend running the pair clashed again, this time in the US Sprint race.

On Lap 1, Turn 1, Oscar Piastri attempted a switch back on his teammate which eventually resulted in a collision that took the pair out of the race.

While Oscar didn't receive a penalty, he has taken 'a degree of responsibility' for the incident, and after a team review, McLaren have decided to give both drivers a clean slate for the rest of the season.

Speaking on Thursday, Oscar said: "We've gone through it again. We go through every weekend regardless of what's happened," Piastri said.

"I think there is a degree of responsibility from my side in the sprint and we're starting this weekend with a clean slate for both of us.

"We're just going out and racing and see who can come out on top. The consequences on Lando's side have been removed. Yes, ultimately, it was [the cut-back] There's a lot of factors involved, but ultimately, yes, that's what's been decided."

Oscar holds a 14 point lead in the Championship over Lando, and the pair will go head to head in this weekend's Mexico GP. You can watch the ShefF1 Podcast here where we make our predictions ahead of a crucial race.
